I partner with community, corporate, and healthcare organizations to bridge the gap between institutional goals and the lived experiences of patients and survivors.
My approach to solving these challenges is unique. I combine my strategic skills with deep insights drawn from both my own lived experience as a survivor and my ongoing work supporting clients one-on-one as a cancer doula. At the core of every partnership is education, equipping your teams and community with the knowledge and tools needed to create lasting, meaningful change. Below are the two main pillars of my strategic work.
⚊ STRATEGIC SERVICES
A lack of participation from diverse communities is one of the most significant barriers to achieving health equity, especially in clinical trials. I partner with you to dismantle those barriers, co-designing culturally competent outreach campaigns and educational materials that build trust and ensure the community's voice is represented in research and care.
● Inclusive Clinical Trial Recruitment & Retention Strategy
● Design of Culturally Competent Education & Awareness Campaigns
● Guidance on Authentic Community Engagement to Address Disparities
● "Lived Experience Expert" Advising for Research Teams
⚊ STRATEGIC SERVICES
Many organizations struggle to build authentic trust and effectively connect with the people they serve. This can lead to low engagement with crucial programs, from treatment support to long-term survivorship. I help you bridge that gap by mapping the patient journey and co-creating programs that are truly human-centered.
● Patient & Survivor Journey Mapping
● Advisory Board Development & Facilitation
● Holistic Support Program Design (for Treatment & Survivorship)
● Community Listening Sessions & Trust-Building Initiatives
Let's connect to discuss how a strategic partnership can transform your work and improve the lives of the people you serve.
"Talaya is a razor-focused advocate for human-centered cancer care. She masterfully creates balanced forums that elevate the patient voice, fostering fair and unbiased dialogue that is essential for both patients and the healthcare community. She is a true collaborator who uses her own journey to help others succeed."
"Talaya’s warm, insightful, and strategic approach has had a huge impact on our community engagement and cancer clinical trials education work at the Minnesota Cancer Clinical Trials Network. Talaya initially came on board to bring community perspective to a statewide education campaign about cancer clinical trials; we had a specific set of goals for the education campaign and Talaya helped us to incorporate patient needs into our plans. The leadership and collaboration she showed in the campaign planning group also helped establish the model for our now-successful Community Advocates program. Talaya is a knowledgeable, strategic, and compassionate voice for patients and it’s a joy to work together! "
